making choices
I withraw from my flat purchase this week. I hade been about to buy a lovely 2 bed victorian flat, a bit of a project, but right in Falmouth, and just perfect to make a little home here. I'm quietly gutted about it's loss, as I had been so looking forward to moving out of my 'room' and having a door of my own. But you can't have it all. I console myself with thoughts of being with Mr V, and having a family.

finally landed proper

Well, it has taken a month of spare room living and countless hours of property viewing, but we have finally got ourselves a place to rent, which is big enough to swing a cat - not to mention house all of the 'stuff' we have had in storage. The men arrived on moving in day with a big truck, and moved us in. The relief to finally have all our home comforts back is super. We have titdied up and been to the tip twice, and the place still looks like an e-bay warehouse - but, this time we can at least MOVE in the place unlike our last flat which was a disaster.
Having a kitchen again is super - so I am indulging in cooking all my old favourites. going to the supermarket is fun again, and best of all I have my sewing machines back. the monster big one has been serviced by a nice man who came round, and now it's ready to go. Joy.

Winchester Hat fair
Hello! hello hello...
i'm back, your favourite, albeit very lazy blogger!!
I have just spent the last two weeks in europa. It was quite fine, especially the Barcalona part. It's great - I get paid to shop, I am loving my job right now.
I also went to see my friends down south, which was far more important than any old toggs shops. On Saturday I was in Winchester, at the 'hat fair' a street theatre bonanza, which was fun, and luckily very sunny. I am not a HUGE fan of 'street theatre' . I mean isn't it just people begging for money by showing off and being silly?? but actually. i could not have got up and dome what they did, especially the acrobats, They were all very entertaining, and I was converted. (I'm still not convinced about the 'alternative dancers' though)

Birthday Party

Last night I dragged myself out of the flat to go to SH's birthday party. I've been feeling pretty rubbish and run down recently, so it felt like a huge effort, but I did think it would do me good to get out there and see a few friends and be all sociable.
SO, armed with yummy make-up gift and humourous card I trudged to the station under cover of the biggest umbrella I could find. Mr V met me at Old street station, so I walked through the Broadgate centre, which is one of my favourite 'urban public spaces' because it has lots of little paths and alleys and shops and I recently discovered a gorgeous 'changing colour lights in the floor' installation. Because of the rain it looked super shiny in the dark, so I stopped to take a few snaps. We had some dinner and I finished up with a very creamy Irish coffee in an attempt to give myself a bit of 'energy' for the night. Actually everything went really well, and seeing my old pals from Germany really cheered me up, and accordingly I drank mohitos and got silly.

Today I have a headache, a toothache and am all grumpy again. BAH! nevermind we are flying away for New Years fun tomorrow so that should cheer me up. I think I should pack lots of pain killers for the event.
