who knows where my head has been of late. but, I have just realized that I totally forgot that I even have a blog. I just found a link for it, an thought - "Oh yes- my blog!"
I admit to being quite wrapped up in life, back and forth to Essex, and generally trying to get the best out of my life (such as it is these days).I'd rather be living it than writing it. frankly.
I am a poor blogger. it is a fact.

New Car
dream
reality
This weekend I bought a car! It is very sensible, and (hopefully) reliable, and not what I set out to buy, but I am very please to now at last have some freedom in this wonderful place that is so difficult to do by public transport.
I had intended to buy an old Mini cooper - as I had owned one before, and loved it. But practicality (and my wallet) came along and said NO! it's too silly to buy one because I need to drive long distances on the motorway, and i don't want it to break down. and the good ones are really expensive!
SO I got a grey VW Polo, which is very smart and clean and good for motorways.

Back tracking
So many times, I find myself thinking 'oh - I can put a picture of this on my blog' and then of course - I never - or rarely, do. There is written somewhere in my head that a blog post has to have a picture - I like pictures more than words, that is how my brain is wired, and so, a blog post that is only words is somewhat boring to me. In fact, this is not true, I have been entertained and interested, even cried with laughter at some peoples posts I have read, without the need for pictures.
Nonetheless, I have some images for you today, as I back track to my trip to India last month. I have never been to India before, and following several peoples tales I was expecting to be mauled by beggars and pickpocketed by street children at every turn, cheated by every person I met and thoroughly left high and dry. To my relief and pleasure, I found that this was not the case, and I had a wonderful experience, due in part to the fact that I was traveling with work, and had the luxury of local people to guide us to our destinations, and see that everything was tip top. We stayed in a beautiful Ex-Maharajah palace hotel in Bangalore, which being a small and relatively wealthy city, (when you call the bank - you probably get through to someone in Bangalore), felt safe and welcoming. We had a train journey to a small town in Tamil Nadu reigon, named Tirapur, and there we met the family of our business associate, who's mum cooked us dinner. It was wonderful.

Travelling
The last 2 months have been blur of several locations.
I feel as if am in constant "travel mode" as I decant and re- pack every few days. I do find it hard to grumble about though, perhaps I secretly enjoy it. My bi-weekly commute between Essex and Cornwall has been refined down to a comfortable 6 hours when I can either catch up on my film viewing or sleep.
Work has taken me to China and India, which apart from being exhausting and hard work, is also interesting and something I quite enjoy.
My personal time has been seriously eroded though, and last week I took a week off to relax. This, naturally prompted a cold, so Mr V and I did very little, which in it's self was quite good.

Portreath
Today was simply a most gorgeous winter day. Blue sky, and clear air. We could see for miles as we drove Cornwall's hills to Portreath. Mr V insisted on trying out a random Byway and we nearly got stuck in a muddy field, I have learned some new map reading skills, and we took some beautiful pictures.

I finally made it
yay. it is finished. my first patchwork quilt! I'm loving it, and I hope the baby does too, When he finally makes an appearance. Today he is 10 days late and counting! I was in such haste to post it off to mrs T, the expectant mother, that I have hardly taken any photos - not like me at all. It is so dark and miserable at the moment i am feeling pretty uninspired to take any pictures, or write my blog for that matter. I feel I need to make spring happen and start doing sunny weather things.
let see what happens.
